Product Management Director
Are you motivated by leading global marketing and portfolio strategy for a portfolio of strong, technically advanced products—while at the same time shaping success in a newly established role with real strategic impact? Do you find work more rewarding when you collaborate with highly competent colleagues who think outside the box? If so, the role of Product Management Director at Struers could be your next natural career step. Read on to learn more.
In this role, you will be responsible for an organization consisting of five Product Managers in direct reporting lines and three in dotted-line reporting within a matrix organization. You will report to the Head of Global Marketing and, together with the rest of the Marketing leadership team, ensure continued growth of the global product portfolio.
Your responsibilities
You will hold overall global responsibility for the entire existing product portfolio across all categories and be accountable for building and further developing strong market insight and product strategies. Through robust market and customer analyses, you will establish the foundation for success by driving the implementation of comprehensive go-to-market plans.
Responsibility for the ongoing management and strong commercial development of the existing product portfolio rests with you. This includes ensuring the continued relevance and value of the products, as well as leading the launch of new products in close collaboration with the NPD team.
The role involves extensive collaboration across a global organization. Your closest stakeholder relationships will include the NPD team, Marketing Communications (MarCom), Sales and Sales Excellence, as well as multiple functions within Operations and Supply Chain.
Other key responsibilities include:
· Tracking and analyzing product performance against financial targets, including revenue, gross margin, and market share. You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven decisions to continuously optimize product performance.
· Staying abreast of the latest marketing trends, digital innovations, and evolving customer behaviors, enabling you to adapt strategies and stay ahead of competitors in a rapidly changing market landscape.
· Working closely with the Sales and Marketing Communications (MarCom) teams to provide clear product messaging, training, tools, and ongoing support to drive successful product adoption.
You will lead a strong Product Management team of eight Product Managers in both direct and indirect reporting lines. You will set a clear strategic direction with well-defined objectives for the organization and provide guidance, one-to-one coaching, mentorship, and support to develop talent, foster creativity, and drive high-performance results.
Your success will, among other things, be measured by your ability to create strong engagement and followership among your team, as well as by delivering growth in volume and market share.
Your Experience and Skills
We expect you to hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a strong commercial foundation and to have successfully applied your expertise within B2B product management in larger technical organizations. You bring several years of experience in product management and a proven track record in conducting comprehensive market analyses, defining product strategies, managing product life cycles, and launching new products in a global context. In addition, you have a solid background in industrial segmentation, target group selection, and the development of compelling value propositions.
A strong commercial understanding of international business-to-business operations—particularly within industrial technology products—is an advantage. You are comfortable working in a global business environment and possess a solid understanding of cultural differences. Experience of working in a matrix organization is also considered an advantage.
As a strong relationship builder, you create trust and confidence among colleagues and key stakeholders. You apply a structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach, enabling you to navigate complexity effectively while maintaining clarity and focus in your work.
You are a strong people leader who delivers results through others, with the ability to inspire, engage, and empower your team. You are communicative and outgoing, fostering open dialogue and cross-functional collaboration across the organization. You are empathetic and curious, with a genuine desire to understand the current reality. While you approach change with patience and respect for the status quo, you also demonstrate a clear ambition and drive to continuously push transformation forward
